First of all my question is How does the use of publishing options effect student writing......I am not exactly sure how I want to choose like five kids to collect my data from.....does anyone have any ideas...or should I even be thinking about this now?

Hey Nicole, I am thinking it is something we should all be thinking about at this time just for the sake of the time frame we have. But that is my opinion. Anyways, for your choice of choosing individuals I would think that you would want a range of abilities. This would allow you to see the affects on below grade level, on grade level, and above grade level. Sorry, I don't really have a huge idea of exactly what your Writers Workshop looks like or what information you will be collecting, so I guess I'm really not that big of a help:)
